伦敦爱乐乐团是世界著名的一流交响乐团。自从1932年托马斯·比切姆爵士创建了伦敦爱乐乐团以来，该团以其演奏曲目的多样性和卓越的艺术性而享盛誉。几十年来，众多著名的指挥家曾经担任过伦敦爱乐乐团首席指挥，其中包括阿德里安·博尔特爵士、约翰·普理查德爵士、伯纳德·海丁克、左尔格·索尔蒂爵士、克劳斯·腾斯泰德、弗朗茨·韦尔泽－莫斯特和现今担任乐团首席指挥的库特·马祖尔。
1973年，伦敦爱乐乐团访问中国，这使得伦敦爱乐乐团的名声和形象深入人心，成为了中国观众心中著名的交响乐团之一。多年来该团在美洲、欧洲和日本进行了多次巡回演出，还出访了印度、澳大利亚和南非。
