Street Fighter II V es una serie de anime japonés basada en el popular videojuego del mismo nombre. Dirigida por Gisaburo Sugii, la serie se estenó en Japón en 1995, desde el 10 de abril hasta el 27 de noviembre, en el canal YTV. La trama de la serie es una relajada adaptación del juego,de hecho,ha sido criticada por muchos fans porque la serie se tomó demasiadas libertades respecto al canon original establecido en la historia de los juegos. La serie sigue las aventuras de un joven Ryu y su amigo Ken, mientras van en un viaje por el mundo para mejorar sus habilidades en las artes marciales luego de que ambos experimentaran una brutal derrota en manos de Guile. Otros personajes como Chun-Li, Cammy y Sagat aparecen a través del curso de la historia con diseños de personaje radicalmente diferentes e historias alternas distintas a las de sus contrapartes originales. 

Long ago, a powerful sentient robot known as GoLion, abused his great powers by attacking and killing creatures known as Deathblack Beastmen, boasting that no one could defeat him. For his arrogance, The Goddess of the Universe punished GoLion by separating him into 5 different lion robots. In the year 1999, a group of 5 young men returned to Earth after a space voyage, only to find it ravaged by nuclear war. After encountering the alien race known as the Galra, the 5 youths end up on the planet Altea and learn that the 5 lion robots that GoLion was split into are in hibernation in various parts of Altea. Somehow, they must reunite the lions and form GoLion, the only hope for the human race.
